Crazy Blessed - Month in Review

Whew! What a month it's been! I don't even know where to start....

The blessed part... our house sold after 5 1/2 months on the market. The crazy part... we had 3, yes 3, competing offers. We received the first offer the day before T was born (Sunday), the second offer on Monday and the third offer on Monday night. We were using the dry erase board in my hospital room to compare all the offers and decide which one to accept. We close on October 26!!

We were released from the hospital on Thursday, and we started looking at homes on Saturday. Pretty pleased with myself since I'm recovering from a C-section! We looked at what felt like a billion homes and put in an offer on a short sale (pre-foreclosure). There's nothing short about a short sale, so we might be moving into an apartment for a month or 2. We're just waiting to hear if the bank accepted our offer and praying that they make a decision soon. We could potentially move in at the end of October if they would hurry it up!

The new house (yes, it is in desperate need of some landscaping!)

Miss T is growing, growing, growing!
1 week old - 6 pounds 11 ounces
2 weeks old - 6 pounds 13 ounces
3 weeks old

1 month old! 7 pounds 15 ounces
Sisters in matching dresses!

And we celebrated P's 2nd birthday! (recap post coming soon)

11 months old!

Only a few days late....

I can't believe this is the last one before she's a year old. I'm getting sad when I think about her birthday and how much she's changed in the last 11 months. I'm the luckiest momma on the planet to be able to call this amazing little girl my own.

10 months old!

I know I say it every month, but time seriously needs to slow down! I cannot believe 10 months have passed since I had this amazing little girl. She is so much fun and I'm just in awe everyday. I'm so glad God chose me to be her momma.

9 months

We just got back from Payton's 9 month well baby visit. Again, she's either on track or ahead the developmental milestones! She weighed 19 pounds 13 ounces (65th percentile) and is 28 inches long (63rd percentile)! She's movin' and groovin' and just growing up so fast!

Click on the picture and look closely...you'll see her top 4 teeth

6 months old and biter biscuits!

Payton had her 6 month well baby exam today. She weighs 16 pounds, 12 ounces and is 26 1/4 inches long! She's still right in the middle of the pack as far as percentiles. Poor baby had 3 shots and 1 oral dose of roto vaccine today. We'll go back at 9 months to check her blood count... hopefully that will just be a little heel prick. Luckily, our next shots aren't until a year old!

Hey... you don't look like me

mmmmm.... biter biscuits

Hey sister, are you going to drop any of that?

I guess I can just lick it off your hand (don't worry, I was armed with baby wipes to get the slobber off)

4 months!

P Diddy is 4 months old! We had her well baby check today and she weighs 13 lbs 10 ozs (48th percentile) and is 24 inches long (39th percentile). She got 3 shots and an oral dose of the roto vaccine. We're cleared to start solids and developmentally she's on track or ahead! She's consistently rolling from her tummy to her back and is thisclose to flipping from her back to her tummy!

3 months!

I honestly cannot believe 3 months have passed since my beautiful little girl was born and my life was forever changed.

I recently read something in Parents magazine that said that to the author, it seemed like the women you yearned for a baby and being pregnant had a harder time adjusting than the women who's pregnancy wasn't planned.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mother. I couldn't wait to be pregnant, to give birth to a little miracle, to see how my life and my husband's life would change, to see that little one grow into an amazing person and to be responsible for that amazing journey.

My pregnancy was fantastic. I loved almost every minute of it. I thought that once I had Payton, the joy would continue and we'd be blissfully happy. What I hadn't counted on was a far from routine birth and all the nicu issues we had with Payton. I truly believe the experience was what led to post partum depression. I didn't get to hold Payton for almost 12 hours... I was so scared to bond with her in case something happened and she didn't make it. I don't think that there was ever a chance of her not making it, but in my exhausted, emotional state, I was trying to protect my heart.

When I say that I couldn't have gotten through the first 6 weeks without my mom and sister I mean it. I think I would've been committed if they weren't here everyday to help me. I didn't want to see anyone but Lane, my mom, my dad and my sister. It was such a dark time. I felt like such a failure. I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know what to do to fix it. Never once did I regret having Payton, but I wondered why she deserved me as a mother.

Thankfully, I was able to move my post partum appointment up a week and I was prescribed medication. I cannot tell you what a difference it's made in 7 short weeks. I'm able to be a blissfully, happy mommy and I know this is my sole purpose in life! Payton is the most beautiful, sweet little girl and I am truly blessed to have her as my daughter. I hope one day she'll be able to say she was blessed to have me as a mother.
